My company is already using the CMMI framework for performance improvement so what more does Essence give us?
The CMMI is used primarily by consultants or internal process improvement professionals to assess a company’s processes and recommend improvements looking at the processes from the outside. Essence, on the other hand, was developed with the project practitioner in mind and is intended to be used on the project itself by practitioners to help them solve their own problems leading to improved performance.
